What Does It Mean to Be of Service to the Divine?

One of the most misunderstood aspects of the priestess path is the idea of service.

When people hear the phrase “be of service,” they often imagine sacrifice.

Giving endlessly.

Putting everyone else first.

Neglecting their own needs.

Carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders.

But true service is not self-abandonment.

True service begins with remembering who you are.

A priestess understands that being of service to the Divine is also being of service to herself.

Why?

Because the Divine is not separate from her.

The same sacred intelligence that moves through nature, intuition, creativity, and life itself also moves through her.

When she serves from that place, service becomes an expression of alignment rather than obligation.

Service Looks Different for Everyone

One of the reasons many people resist their calling is because they assume service must look a certain way.

Perhaps they imagine teaching large groups. Starting a spiritual business. Hosting retreats. Writing books. Speaking on stages.

While those can absolutely be forms of service, they are not the only forms.

A woman tending a garden. A mother raising her children with love. Someone who offers a kind word to a stranger. An artist creating beauty. A healer supporting clients.

All of this is service.

The form changes.

The essence remains the same.

Service is not about what you do.

It is about the energy you bring into what you do.

Sharing Your Gifts Is an Act of Service

Many priestesses feel a deep desire to contribute something meaningful to the world.

A gift. A message. A healing modality. A vision.

Yet fear often gets in the way.

What will people think? Am I ready? Who am I to do this? What if nobody wants it?

The irony is that the gift itself is often the thing trying to move through you.

Your calling may not be asking you to become someone else.

It may simply be asking you to share what is already there.

The wisdom. The creativity. The healing. The love. The voice.

When a gift is shared, it has the opportunity to serve others.

When it remains hidden, that opportunity remains hidden too.

Service Requires Visibility

This is where many people get stuck.

They want to help. They want to contribute. They want to serve.

But they do not want to be seen.

Yet service often requires visibility.

Not because visibility is the goal.

But because people cannot receive what they cannot find.

If you have a healing practice, people need to know you exist. If you have wisdom to share, people need an opportunity to hear it. If you have a gift, people need a doorway through which they can receive it.

Visibility is not ego.

Visibility is accessibility.

It is allowing the people who are looking for your work to find you.

The Temple Door

One of my favorite ways to understand service is through the image of a temple.

Imagine your life, your work, or your business as a temple.

Every day, you open the temple door.

Some people walk past. Some glance inside and keep moving. Some become curious and return later. Some walk straight in and immediately know they have found what they were looking for.

Your role is not to convince anyone to enter.

Your role is not to chase people down the street.

Your role is simply to keep the temple open.

To tend the space. To care for what has been entrusted to you. To show up with love. To welcome those who are meant to be there.

And then allow everyone else their own journey.

That is service.

Service Is a Daily Choice

The priestess path is rarely one grand moment.

More often, it is a thousand small choices.

The choice to show up. The choice to trust. The choice to create. The choice to share. The choice to love. The choice to keep the temple door open.

Again and again.

Not because you know exactly what will happen.

But because you trust the deeper calling that is moving through you.

The priestess understands that her role is not to control the outcome.

Her role is to show up fully.

And let life meet her there.
