The Question
One question has been quietly following me for some time.
Was Lemuria only about the Divine Feminine?
I kept seeing people online compare Lemuria and Atlantis side by side. Lemuria represented the Divine Mother or Divine Feminine. Atlantis represented the Divine Masculine.
The more I encountered this idea, the more I found myself wondering:
Is that the whole picture? Or is there something deeper?
What Lemuria Means to Me
When I say, “Lemuria is oneness before separation,” this is what I mean.
It is before we forget who we truly are. Before we forgot that we are an extension of Source. A manifestation of the Divine. A vessel of love.
Before we fell into the illusion of fear.
Separation. Scarcity. Lack. Survival.
When I think of Lemuria, I don’t simply think of an ancient civilization. I think of a state of remembrance.
Why the Divine Feminine Became the Focus
I don’t actually know how Lemuria became so closely associated with the Divine Feminine. Perhaps it is simply the language many of us inherited. It certainly was for me.
But I’ve also wondered if there is another reason.
The world we live in already values qualities often associated with the Divine Masculine.
Logic. Structure. Linear thinking. Analysis. Productivity.
These qualities matter. Without structure, a house would collapse.
But if you went to a job interview today, you probably wouldn’t write: “My greatest strength is intuition.” Or healing. Or inner knowing. Or your deep relationship with God.
Those are the very qualities our modern world often overlooks. Interestingly, they are also the qualities many people associate with the Divine Feminine.
Maybe that’s why the Divine Feminine is receiving so much attention today. Not because it is replacing the masculine. But because these forgotten qualities are being remembered.
Perhaps that’s also why so many people speak of “the rise of the Divine Feminine.” And perhaps why Lemuria feels as though it is rising in our collective consciousness as well.
What I Imagine Lemuria Was Like
To me, Lemuria was never about women being above men. It was about living in a world where women were deeply respected. Where their intuition wasn’t dismissed. Where their wisdom wasn’t diminished.
Not because women were superior. But because intuition itself was valued.
I don’t think intuition was a rare spiritual gift. I think it was normal. It wasn’t supernatural. It wasn’t even “woo-woo.” It was as ordinary as eating.
People remembered who they were. They were deeply connected with Source. Their intuition wasn’t constantly confused with fear or ego. It was simply part of everyday life.
This is also how I’ve come to understand the priestess path.
Not a costume.
Not a performance.
Just someone who never forgot how to listen.
A Question That Stayed With Me
Someone once asked me a question I haven’t forgotten. “If the Messiah had come as a woman instead of Jesus, would you trust her more? Why?”
My immediate response surprised me. I realised I’ve never had an issue with the Messiah being male. But I also wouldn’t have had an issue if the Messiah had been female.
Because when I think about God… Source… The Divine… I don’t think in terms of gender. I think of oneness.
The question stayed with me because, underneath it, I heard another question:
“If God were a woman, would that change anything?”
My own response was simple.
Why are we putting a gender on God?
Looking back, I wonder if that question had been quietly leading me toward the same understanding all along.
That question shifted something in me. The next experience showed me what that looked like in everyday life.
A Moment I Didn’t Expect
Years ago, I facilitated a women’s circle. Among about ten women, there was one man. To be honest, everyone felt a little awkward. Including me.
I remember wondering, “What is he doing here?”
But we continued.
By the end of the gathering, one of the women shared something that stayed with me. At first, she had questioned why there was a man in the room. Now she was grateful he had come. His perspective had helped her see something she couldn’t have seen on her own.
That moment felt much bigger than a women’s circle. It felt like the masculine and feminine remembering one another.
What I Am Not Saying
I’m not saying Lemuria was masculine. I’m not saying Lemuria was feminine. I’m not saying one is better than the other. I’m simply wondering whether oneness is something much bigger than choosing a side.
Just as I don’t believe patriarchy is the answer, I also don’t believe replacing it with matriarchy is. Maybe the invitation isn’t to swing from one extreme to another. Maybe the invitation is to remember wholeness.
For me, that has also been a personal journey. I used to express far more masculine qualities. Today, I’m learning to embody more of the feminine while honouring both.
Someone else’s path may look completely different.
Where This Leaves Me
So why do I think Lemuria is so often associated with the Divine Feminine?
My own reflection is that Lemuria reminds us of qualities our modern world has largely forgotten—intuition, receptivity, compassion, and inner knowing. It’s natural that these qualities have become the focus because they’re the ones many of us are remembering.
But I don’t believe that’s where the story ends. To me, Lemuria isn’t ultimately about choosing the Divine Feminine over the Divine Masculine. It’s about remembering the wholeness from which both arise.
I don’t feel called to recreate Lemuria. I don’t think we’re here to return to the past. I think we’re here to remember the wisdom that still serves us and bring it into this timeline.
Maybe that’s what creating the New Earth really means.
Not becoming more masculine.
Not becoming more feminine.
But returning to oneness.
